About Moegyo Humanitarian Foundation

Moegyo is an independent grassroots organization created by volunteers with shared ideals and goals.

Moegyo was founded in May 2008 with 15 volunteers from the United States of America, Thailand, Australia and Myanmar to assist the victims of Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar (Burma). Moegyo was one of the first volunteer groups in Myanmar after the Cyclone Nargis to provide much needed relief to the victims.

Moegyo's approach, with a focus on speed and results using local volunteers and experts, is widely recognized across the international communities as an optimal model to fill the void left by the national and international aid agencies in Myanmar.

Moegyo's mission is to provide humanitarian aid and to help people rebuild and improve their lives and societies. Our current focus is to help orphans and disadvantaged children in poorest parts of Myanmar.

Moegyo is recognized in the state of New York in the United States of America as a not-for-profit organization. Our U.S. federal tax id is 26-2639437. Please note that donations to Moegyo is not tax deductible. We are currently in the application process for 501 (c) (3) status to obtain a tax exemption status in the U.S.
